Sonoma County has been very fortunate to have Patricia Dines, the EcoGirl, http://www.askecogirl.info live in Sebastopol for a number of years. Patricia not only created Community Action Publications (CAP) she was the chief researcher, writer, typist, layout and editor of five editions of The Organic Guide to Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino Counties as well as The Organic Guide to San Francisco. She brings to her work 25 years experience as a professional writer and educator, with 15 of those years specializing in environmental topics. Patricia is not only well informed, well organized and talented, but an excellent speaker for The Sacred Earth.
Over two years ago Patricia was instrumental helping to create the Sebastopol Toxics Education Program (STEP), an innovative city-wide toxics-reduction program. The primary project is a 2-page newsletter called The Next STEP, which is sent 6 times a year to all City residents in their water bills. It provides friendly, informative and helpful information about the potential health and environmental harm of common household toxics - and about the viable, earth-friendly (and often less-expensive) alternatives that can be used.
